Carrier Corporation currently has an opportunity at the Charlotte, NC
factory as Human Resources Manager. In the position the successful
candidate will provide support for all aspects of the human resources
function, to include but not limited to; employee relations,
recruitment, communications, time and attendance administration, safety
support, employee development, compensation, as well as corporate and
legal compliance.
MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Support and develop recruitment strategies for plant positions,
including outside sources, job fairs, advertisements, assuring the
best-qualified candidates in a cost effective and timely manner.
- Administer new hire orientation.
- Supervision and administration of payroll processes in coordination
with corporate payroll.
- Administration of leaves of absences (FMLA, STD, LTD) etc.
- Administration of employment actions and HRIS data entry such as
promotions, transfers, terminations etc.
- Assist employees with dispute resolution that complies with federal and
state employment laws.
- Assist with developing and updating company policy and work guidelines.
- Organizational development and implementation of training programs.
- Knowledge of safety principles, OSHA laws.
- Utilize good communication methods to maintain a positive relationship
with all plant employees
- Facilitate employee action planning teams to promote high employee
satisfaction.
- Organize and assist with company functions such as appreciation events,
and round table discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement within HR using ACE / continuous
improvement methodology.
- Support corporate initiatives as needed to ensure corporate compliance
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or
related field.
- Seven plus years experience in human resource management preferably in
manufacturing environment.
- Five plus years in a leadership/coaching position
- Considerable working knowledge of principles and practices of human
resource management.
- Proven ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in establishing
and maintaining good working relationships.
- Successful record demonstrating ability to use continuous improvement
systems to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid
conclusions, recommendations, and plans of action.
- HR Certification a plus (SPHR, PHR).
The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Manager,
Carrier Charlotte Operations, and functionally to the Human Resources
Manager, Carrier CMA.
